COVID-19 is claiming the life of another individual in Fort McMurray.
The province announced on Tuesday there were four additional deaths from the virus across Alberta – one of which lived in the community.
This is the sixth death related to COVID-19 in Fort McMurray and the RMWB.
Of the four newly announced deaths two men, one in his 50s and the other in his 60s, lived in the north zone and were dealing with other comorbidities.
It’s unclear which one was from Fort McMurray as Alberta Health doesn’t release any more information due to patient confidentiality.

A new report is claiming to get to zero emissions by 2050 is only possible if no more investments are made in fossil fuel projects.
This includes no new oil and natural gas fields, no more sales of new internal combustion engine passenger cars by 2035, and having the global electricity sector reach zero emissions by 2040.
“The clean energy transition is for and about people,” said Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the IEA.
“The pathway laid out in our Roadmap is global in scope, but each country will need to design its own strategy, taking into account its own specific circumstances.”

Being called to the side for an “additional security screening” is aggravating, but a potential new part of the boarding process for airlines could cause blood pressure to rise even more for some. That s because the FAA is considering weighing passengers before they board a flight to make sure the plane isn’t overloaded. And yes, it s mainly due to the increase in obesity in America.
The last data reported by the CDC says the obesity rate in the United States is roughly 42.4% - that was as of 2018.and the FAA says their weight estimates are outdated. The newest average weight estimates for passengers:
Organizations are being encouraged to apply to receive free rapid COVID-19 testing kits.
The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications from businesses and non-profits that plan on using them to help identify pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic cases.
This includes non-members.
The government of Alberta announced last week they’re partnering with Chambers across the province to help get these kits into communities.
So far, 12 local companies have applied and will receive a total of 2,000 tests over a seven-month period.
Those interested in taking part in the first wave of kits will need to register by 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
